1. Purpose and scope
Launchpad is owned and operated by the London Institute of Business and Technology (LIBT). This policy governs the reservation, use, and cancellation of workspaces and facilities at Launchpad. It applies to every Launchpad account holder making a booking, including free Community-tier members. You must hold an active Launchpad account to make a booking — see section 2.
2. Workspace inventory and eligibility
Launchpad operates from Hillary House, Prospect Hill, Douglas, IM1 1EQ. These spaces are bookable at discoverlaunchpad.com:
- Hot Desks. Casual workspace, included in eligible membership tiers or available via a Day Pass to any account holder.
- The Boardroom / Conference Room. For meetings, calls, and small-group work. Minimum 1-hour booking.
- The Event Space. For workshops, talks, and larger gatherings. Minimum 1-hour booking.
Dedicated Desks are reserved for Pro and Corporate members and cannot be booked separately.
Eligibility. To book, you must be 18 or older and hold an active Launchpad account, including the free Community tier (see the User Policy for account types). The person making the booking is fully responsible for the reservation, and for the conduct of any guests they bring.
3. Booking windows and payment
How far ahead you can book:
- Boardroom / Conference Room: up to 30 days.
- Event Space: up to 180 days.
- Hot Desks (Day Pass): subject to daily capacity; same-day booking is allowed where space permits.
Payment. All bookings are charged at the point of reservation, via Stripe. For members, eligible account hours are deducted first; any remaining balance is billed to your registered card (see the Credit Policy). VAT is charged at the prevailing rate and itemised on every invoice. Published prices exclude VAT unless stated otherwise.
4. Cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows
We apply a strict 24-hour threshold for all changes, so unused space isn't lost to the rest of the community.
| Action | More than 24 hours before start | Less than 24 hours before start |
|---|---|---|
| Cancellation | Full refund, in cash or account credit | Non-refundable. Cash and credits are forfeited |
| Rescheduling | One free reschedule via your dashboard | Treated as a cancellation. You'll need a new booking |
No-shows. If you don't attend a booking, your fee or credit is retained in full. Repeated no-shows may lead to booking restrictions or account suspension, to keep access fair for everyone.
Cancellations by Launchpad. In exceptional cases, such as building maintenance, a safety issue, or a technical failure, we may cancel a booking. We'll offer an immediate reschedule or a full refund. We're not liable for any consequential loss or external cost this causes you.
5. Shared workspace rules
Launchpad is a shared professional space. Everyone using it must respect the comfort, productivity, and safety of others:
- Punctuality. Arrive and leave within your booked slot, so the next person isn't delayed.
- Noise. Keep noise appropriate for a coworking space. Take all voice and video calls in a phone booth or the Boardroom, not at an open hot desk.
- Cleanliness. Leave your desk or room as clean and tidy as you found it.
- Guests. You can host occasional guests for brief discussions. For a meeting longer than 30 minutes, or with three or more visitors, book the Boardroom. Guests must sign in at reception and stay with you throughout.
- Network use. Free Wi-Fi is provided subject to fair use. Unlawful activity, heavy torrenting, and large-scale streaming are not allowed.
- Liability. You're financially responsible for any damage to Launchpad property beyond normal wear and tear. We're not responsible for personal items lost, stolen, or left unattended on-site.
6. Booking the Event Space
Because the Event Space hosts larger, public-facing gatherings, these additional terms apply:
- Any external catering, AV setup, furniture changes, or third-party supplier must be approved by Launchpad management in advance.
- Time used beyond your booked slot is billed at our standard hourly rate, subject to availability.
- Amplified audio, live music, or performances need written approval in advance, to protect neighbouring tenants from disruption.
- We may vet an event concept before approving it. For a large, commercial, or ticketed event, we may ask for proof of public liability insurance and a separate event contract.
7. Safety and enforcement
On arrival, locate your nearest fire exit and follow all evacuation instructions during an alarm. We maintain our facilities in line with Manx health and safety law.
We can refuse entry, cancel a booking, or end an active session immediately, without a refund, if:
- You or a guest behave in an intimidating, unsafe, or disruptive way.
- You breach the User Policy.
- You use the space for a purpose materially different from the one declared at booking.
8. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Isle of Man, and any dispute falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Manx courts.
